Programs and Games

These are the games and programs that make this channel. The games have hundreds or even thousands of hours of fun and entertainment built in, and the programs have helped me turn this channel into what it is now! You can click on the pictures to go to that game/program's website.

As much as I completely despise everything Apple, I have the admit the one advantage of buying a Mac is the list of free programs. IMovie, or at least the version I'm using ('11), is the best free video editor in existence, hands down. I've been using it since I first started recording videos, and it still provides everything I need to edit videos free of charge.

Games

Ah Minecraft... This game has been on the channel since its inception. It's a block-based sandbox game with a procedurally generated world that spans an area of 40.96 TRILLION square blocks. With survival, advenure, and creative modes, there's infinite building possibilities. Add command blocks, and you can create interactive characters, stories, and complicated puzzles to your heart's desire. There has never been a game in history with this amount of freedom, making this one of the greatest games ever created.

OBS is an awesome piece of recording and streaming software! You can change tons of settings along with setting up overlays and different scenes quickly and easily. It also supports Nvidia NVENC which allows you to use your graphics card instead of your processor for encoding video. This is must if you don't have a high end core i7 processor for recording 1080p video.

A real blast from the past here! This game is the next installment in a series that began over 30 years ago in 1984. The first game, Elite, is widely regarded as one of the most innovative games ever made, and was the first in history to offer 3D visuals with hidden lines. Elite: Dangerous is proving itself a worthy successor, boasting itself as the world's first MMO Space Simulator with Neutonian Physics. The traversable galaxy is 65,000 ly across, and contains over 400 billion star systems on a 1:1 scale, making it the largest game universe ever created. Crossing the galaxy is a huge task, taking most pilots months, and that's not including the return trip! With hidden secrets everywhere and a completely player-influenced universe, Elite: Dangerous is definitely going to be one for the history books!

VLC Media Player is my intermediate video encoder. This is hugely useful as one of the downsides of using Nvidia NVENC is that the scrubbing time of raw videos can be in minutes. Encoding through VLC (and only VLC from what I can tell), fixes this problem, and makes it possible to actually edit these videos with no little to no quality loss. Awesome program!
